Makunouchi Bento x Selfmademusic x Stefan Tiron
— AV live performance
Saturday, 4 Oct. 9 PM / Cinema Studio rooftop

The future is here, but it is unevenly distributed.
A walk through a parallel world, through a (un)certain future. A report from the one left behind to turn off the lights, lock the door, and slide the bolt.
Makunouchi Bento, or the Japanese “lunch box,” is a polished and carefully crafted wooden box, divided into compartments filled with culinary delights. This fetish probably corresponds to the most familiar image of the Japanese domestic environment. Interpreting the box both as an object and as a metaphor, Felix Petrescu (Waka X) and Valentin Toma (Toma Carnagiu, FKA Qewza) founded, at the end of 2000, this cinematic / experimental / electroacoustic music project.
Mihai “Mimi” Sălăjan (also known as IIVII II IIVII II and Selfmademusic) is a Romanian musician, filmmaker, and artist. He debuted as a film director with Bodrog (2018) and has released numerous albums under the pseudonym Selfmademusic. He frequently collaborates with the Kinema Ikon collective.
Ștefan Tiron is an artist, curator, and writer living and working between Bucharest and Berlin, also known under his alias Megatron. He has been described as a paranoia double agent, information dealer, dirty data miner, info broker, shady somatic recipient and damaged cortical data retriever. In 2016 he published the essay collection Cosmic Drift & Temporal Divergence.
Founder and co-curator of The Space Agency for Nocturnal Journeys to the Origins of the Universe.
