Unstable Matter
— A/V live performance
Wednesday, 1 Oct. 8 PM / Garrison Command

Decomposition is not an ending but a transition, an opening toward other forms of presence. In the breakdown, perception adjusts: listening becomes attuned to residue, seeing expands into fragments.
What falls apart does not vanish; it reconfigures. Sound fractures into unstable textures – no longer melody or rhythm, but raw vibration. Image dissolves under the lens, where chemical reactions unfold as shifting surfaces: structures collapsing, colors bleeding, matter in flux.
The work does not offer coherence, but a state of continual becoming. It inhabits the fragile interval between disintegration and recomposition, where nothing holds and everything transforms.
Andrei Raicu is a theatre director, sound designer and composer. Interested in the intersection of art and technology, he develops interactive projects for the performing arts using platforms such as AR and VR.
He was part of the team behind Cyber-Body-Systems, an EEG biofeedback project presented at JKU Linz and CNDB Bucharest. Since 2018, he has collaborated with Queerdos, a Berlin-based collective of independent performers, composing and designing sound for their shows. He has performed live at festivals such as Simultan, Amural, Sabotage, Outernational Days and InContext, and is a member of Al-Ehtifal Project, a fluid ensemble of musicians dedicated to collective improvisation.
