Mario de Vega’s work includes installative formats, site-specific interventions, performative situations and publication projects. His practice creates listening settings whether we still listening or we only believe to listen. Situations where everything could be questioned as invalid individual parts. His work is contextual, moving between documentation and performativity where printed media, video, objects, remains of actions, events, and social situations produce induced relations between condensed energies, systems and spaces.
He has been guest artist and lecturer at Universität der Künste Berlin, Rijksakademie Amsterdam, Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt, Technische Universität Berlin, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris, Kyushu University, écal, Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien, among others.
Since 2020, Mario de Vega is Professor at the Kunsthochschule Kassel.
