Inutilul dezv\u0103luie natura construit\u0103 a percep\u021biilor, \u00eendemn\u00e2ndu-ne s\u0103 reconsider\u0103m ce consider\u0103m real sau valoros.<br><br>\u00cen explorarea termenului inutil, punem \u00een prim-plan a\u0219tept\u0103rile legate de tehnologie \u0219i modul \u00een care aceasta influen\u021beaz\u0103 rela\u021biile sociale \u0219i dezvoltarea societ\u0103\u021bii. Unul dintre miturile comune este c\u0103 tehnologia va ajunge, \u00een cele din urm\u0103, s\u0103 existe ca utilitate pur\u0103, premis\u0103 care a generat dou\u0103 viziuni opuse despre viitor: una \u00een care tehnologia este perceput\u0103 ca o for\u021b\u0103 eliberatoare, promi\u021b\u00e2nd un viitor al abunden\u021bei materiale, \u0219i cealalt\u0103, care contureaz\u0103 o viziune de co\u0219mar birocratic, \u00een care tehnologia devine un mecanism sc\u0103pat de sub control, amenin\u021b\u00e2nd s\u0103 dezumanizeze \u0219i s\u0103 anihileze esen\u021ba umanit\u0103\u021bii.<br>\u00cens\u0103, \u00eentre aceste extreme se afl\u0103 o posibilitate rar men\u021bionat\u0103: inutilitatea tehnologiei. Georges Bataille afirma c\u0103 tehnologia ar putea s\u0103 nu fie nici binef\u0103c\u0103toare, nici rea, ci pur \u0219i simplu un element inutil, lipsit de func\u021bie. \u00cen acest context, tehnologia pur\u0103 nu ar fi folosit\u0103 niciodat\u0103; ea ar exista independent de nevoile \u0219i dorin\u021bele umane, un monument al inutilit\u0103\u021bii.Multe dispozitive din jurul nostru sunt suprasaturate cu func\u021bii pe care nu le vom folosi niciodat\u0103. Aceste caracteristici inutile exist\u0103 doar pentru a satisface dorin\u021ba consumatorului pentru mai mult, nu pentru a \u00eendeplini o necesitate real\u0103. Aceast\u0103 economie a surplusului exploateaz\u0103 nevoia de exces, transform\u00e2nd produsele \u00een simboluri ale statutului \u0219i ale puterii sociale.<br>\u00cen aceast\u0103 lume a tehnologiei inutile, consumatorii nu mai cump\u0103r\u0103 produse pentru a le folosi, ci pentru a poseda excesele pe care acestea le reprezint\u0103. Astfel, tehnologia devine o parte integrant\u0103 a economiei dorin\u021bei, mai degrab\u0103 dec\u00e2t un instrument al practicii. \u00cen esen\u021b\u0103, produsele devin icoane ale transcenden\u021bei seculare, acumul\u00e2nd valoare prin inutilitatea lor \u0219i control\u00e2nd vie\u021bile celor care le de\u021bin.<br>Aceast\u0103 tendin\u021b\u0103 reflect\u0103 o dorin\u021b\u0103 profund\u0103 \u0219i peren\u0103 a umanit\u0103\u021bii de a se subordona inutilului, de a oferi sacrificii unui idol modern al tehnologiei inutile. \u00cen timp ce societatea avanseaz\u0103, tehnologia continu\u0103 s\u0103 devin\u0103 mai pu\u021bin despre func\u021bionalitate \u0219i mai mult despre semnifica\u021bie simbolic\u0103. Astfel, progresul tehnologic nu ne conduce neap\u0103rat c\u0103tre o utopie sau o distopie, ci c\u0103tre un regat al inutilului, unde valoarea tehnologiei este m\u0103surat\u0103 nu prin utilizarea sa, ci prin capacitatea sa de a transcende orice nevoie practic\u0103.<br><br>Dorin\u021ba pentru inutil nu este despre a urm\u0103ri inutilitatea. Mai degrab\u0103, este despre a g\u0103si sens \u00een aparentul impracticabil prin creativitate, critic\u0103 \u0219i \u00een\u021belegere. G\u00e2nde\u0219te-te la dorin\u021b\u0103 ca la energie, nu ca la un gol.
