{"id":1282,"date":"2021-11-06T02:20:45","date_gmt":"2021-11-06T02:20:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.simultan.org\/?post_type=projects&#038;p=1282"},"modified":"2026-02-09T10:51:03","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T10:51:03","slug":"sonic-narratives","status":"publish","type":"projects","link":"https:\/\/www.simultan.org\/en\/projects\/sonic-narratives\/","title":{"rendered":"SONIC NARRATIVES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>30 \u2014 31 OCT.\u00a02021, TIMI\u0218OARA, Bega Canal Bank <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><a href=\"https:\/\/sonicnarratives.simultan.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>PROJECT WEBSITE<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Sonic Narratives<\/em>&nbsp;is a physical and imaginary path, which aims to raise awareness of the urban space, lived, explored and (re)discovered, the ecologic, emotional, acoustic, sensory and social dimensions of the city.<br>The physical route, which starts from the city center, on the banks of the Bega canal to the outskirts, crosses an urban landscape with a diverse historical load and induces us in a series of sound and visual incursions through artistic interventions and installations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Sonic Narratives&nbsp;<\/em>intends to create limit situations that lead to the need for change from the individual or group perspective, daily personal revolution dictated by the pressure of social models, ideals, survival situations, rather than living entirely, the cultivation of false needs, the dictatorship of merchandise, the countervalent impulses that exist in a profound alienation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An ecosystem of spaces, actions and events spread through the city, interconnected narratively, conceptually and physically, they generate a situation where imaginary space, physical space and emotional space interfere with or contradict each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project bring together Romanian and International artists, practitioners and professionals of various practices to develop their project on site, to adapt it to the revisited place(s) or\/and to feed it with recorded sounds on the spot (field recordings).<br>In addition to their contextual installation, during the weekend they will also present sonic live performances.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sonic Narratives - teaser\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7C4LUz_EPMM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This pilot edition of Sonic Narratives invites the visitor\/walker to the pleasure of active listening, drifting, (re)discovering both architectures and urban landscapes and the environments transformed\/revealed in a poetic audio way.<br>The purpose of this collaborative project is to broaden the context for artistic production in Timisoara, using the city as a platform for exploration and artistic research through a process that essentialises the phenomenon of urban transition, memory and temporality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artists: Abby Lee Tee (AT) &amp; Andreea S\u0103s\u0103ran (RO), Anca Bucur &amp; Sergiu Nisioi (RO), Thibault Drouillon (BE), Paradise Now (BE\/FR), Tommy Lawson (FR), Roberto Paci Dal\u00f2 (IT), Anamaria Pravicencu (RO), Sillyconductor (RO), solve@coagula (RO), Time Gates (Ben G.
