Nikola Jeremic [de] - Baum, 3:00, 2008

This is a surface reflection about the skin. The human skin, marks and sex/gender systems. An injury and the resulting healing process show the mutability and the state of flux of the skin. A chain of photos, morphed from one to the other demonstrates this instability and relate them to the instability of sex/gender.
The sexually connoted sociological human body becomes manifested by means of the skin. It gives identity and it is the instance that makes us describable and by which we can communicate.

Nikola Jeremic is an independent music composer and visual artist based in Berlin, Germany. His musical style can be expressed as “contemporary” or “experimental”, while his working concept is based on building complex musical and visual structures out of simple and minimal sound and visual material.
Jeremic was taking part in various music festivals, concerts and performances in Europe where he presented his acoustic as well as his electronic music and videos. His works also include music compositions, improvisations and sound design for various theater and contemporary dance pieces. Jeremic is currently part of different music projects such as “Sonik Theatre” and “Buka”, and since 2006 working in the “Echoplex-Sounddesign” studio as a composer, arranger and sound designer.
Jeremic studied composition at the University of Arts in Belgrade - Serbia, at the University "Mozarteum" in Salzburg - Austria and at the University of Arts in Berlin - Germany.
