Lee Kwang Goh [my/de]

Goh Lee Kwang was influences by rock music in general, electro-acoustic improvised music, 20th avant-grade composed music, electronic experimental music as well as visual art, movie & literature. Early in his career he was involved in indie rock music and electronic experimental music; Writing musical articles and essays for various fanzines and newspapers; as well as taking part in art exhibitions.

Since 2001 he began making his own music to cdR, most of his early works became the backing music of dance and theater pieces. In 2002 he was selected by international pioneer sound artist Max Neuhaus a grant/ fellowship at the Akademie Schloss Solitude of Stuttgart, Germany to stay and continue his artistic career in Stuttgart, Germany for 15 months in 2004 to 2005.

Beside his sound installation & composition, Goh also play live music as an improviser, in 2004 he produced the CD "Internal Pleasures - solo improvisation with stereo DJ mixer". And supporting the CD, Goh was toured 10 cities in Ireland, Germany, France and The Netherlands, performed in various well-known experimental music/ sound festivals such as “Jazz en Nord” Lille, France, “Ver Uit De Maat” Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

And he second Europe tour called "Europe Vibrations" in 2007 covering Austria, Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands & France, performed in various festivals such as "New West Electronic Arts & Music Festival", Berlin & "Festival de Musiques Innovatrices", Saint-Etienne... His next Europe visit/ presentation will be in the spring 2008.

Goh is also one of the founding members of "n desir studio" and one of the founders of Experimental Artists Co-op Malaysia (EMACM). "n desir studio" an alternative multifunctional space in Kuala Lumpur, organized art exhibition, underground music concert, experimental music workshop, international film screening, and as well as using the space as rehearsal space for dance and theater performed. EMACM is a collaborative project dedicated to the facilitation, publication and exposure of creative and experimental works from the region.
