A 3d animated form moves and transforms into 4 different states, representative of mythic and spiritual transformation. The form is characteristically both organic and synthetic, with flesh and plastic interacting. It becomes a mediation on the relationship between life, the artificial, and the transformative nature of the digital age. The confronting creature-like form questions our transcendental position with technology. The animation directly integrates video of organs, such as heartbeats, into the motion, furthering the commentary on artificial life and the mutability of our bodies.

I am a New York based artist working with digital media. I create 3d animations for projection, which become flesh and plastic hybrid creatures, taking on an ephemeral and ethereal quality that transcends the real and the photographic. With this I want to uncover a visual language that deals with certain dualisms that define our relationship to technology; the synthetic and organic, the physical and spiritual, the sexual and sterile.
