For the video “Cake Mix”, I asked various people to tell me a story that could be called a “serendipitous occurrence”. After listening to each story, I randomly edited the narratives, using the idea of chance and serendipity to create the audio track. The images of the cakes intrigued me just as much as the stories of coincidence, so I placed these seemingly non-related audio and video together for the viewer to make his or her own connections.
