HEIDI KUMAO [USA] - Wired Wear, 03:10, 2007

“Wired Wear: Mediating Everyday Performances” is a series of women’s clothing embedded with custom electronics designed to provide the wearer with improved functionality in the public sphere. Through the combination of electronics and fashion, these “performative technologies” assist the user by providing increased environment-awareness, indicators for pleasure, and better posture. “Wired Wear” enhances and expands performance beyond the athletic, economic, or theatre contexts and draws attention to technology’s mediation of our everyday “performances.”
